Dog such as this Alaskan Malamute are thought to still have 1/4 Wolf genes in them. Centuries of breeding have almost certainly eradicated the Wolf gene from dog's except for possibly the Alaskan Malamute or Siberian Husky which both howl and look like Wolves. However even they are not nearly as wild as Wolves. Wolves are nomadic, pack orientated, often loner wild dogs that should not be owned hybrid or not. To own a wild animal is to own an animal that is unpredictable and should be taken seriously.
Hybrid dogs have always been and will always be around. Whether it be to the extreme with a Wolf Hybrid or with Bulldog fanciers. Hybrids are interesting and more often than not dominant dogs. With a Wolf Hybrid you would be getting a dog that is far too dominant and an easy risk. Even though all dogs are said to be descended from Wolves. A direct breeding into a dog from a Wolf is very different. Here you are getting about 100% Wolf genes mixed with the genes of your domestic dog which is basically creating another Wolf. The temptation to own and contain a wild animal seems overpowering and surreal. Unfortunately the wild instinct and behavior these dogs have are too risky and dangerous.
