Wire Fox Terrier - Terrier Group

The Wire Fox Terrier originated in England as a vermin hunter as well as a fox chaser. They like to be suspicious, inquisitive, exuberant and like all terrier's are fearless and tough. Their independent mind set may cause one to think that they are not being obedient. This is just a trait that is innate in their personality to explore and hunt. The Wire Fox Terrier has a harsh coat that is colored in white as well as brindle or dark brown. Standing from 14-15 inches at the shoulder and weighing from 16-18 lbs. They are a small dog that is full of energy. At times they may be aggressive with other dogs but they should adjust with the right exposure to other dogs when they are young. This dog breed is eager to learn and please it's owner and family. Grooming should be done bi-weekly to maintain the harsh coat. Exercise for about an hour a day or more is sufficient. As with many terrier's they have a tendency to rip up their yard or alert everyone that they are around.
