Vizsla - Sporting Group
The Vizsla is a Hungarian breed that was bred from Pointers. It looks similar to the Weimaraner which it may have been bred and restored with. World War II caused a steady decline of this dog and threatened the breed. Chestnut Gold is the primary color of the Vizsla and it has a short coat. He needs to remain active like all dogs and is well suited to work in show trials. Generally considered a compassionate dog that likes to be with his family. The Vizsla is strikingly beautiful in gold and sports a solid body. Used to hunt birds, vermin and small game. The breed is a great hunter. The Vizsla has become popular in the United States as well as other countries worldwide. They stand about 22-24 inches at the shoulder and weigh between 49-62 lbs.
