Sussex Spaniel - Sporting Group
Originating in England, the Sussex Spaniel is a dog bred for tracking and flushing small game. Their coat is of medium length and is colored in a golden brown. Standing 13-15 inches at the shoulder and weighing from 35-45 lbs. The Sussex Spaniel is a dog that may not be as energetic as most spaniels. However, they are still dedicated to a hunt. This breed is generally laid back, calm and at times a frequent barker. They may be aggressive towards unknown dogs. The Sussex Spaniel is at times stubborn when training but does enjoy a game when exercising. This breed is keen to taste the scent of the game it is tracking. They are also a gun dog and able to handle themselves around a gun while flushing or tracking game. The Sussex Spaniel is the ideal dog for those who like a cuddly dog. They are more of a walker than a jogging partner. In general they are a great dog for those who seek a companion but also a dog with an instinct to be focused.
