Spinone Italiano - Sporting Group

The Spinone Italiano as the name implies is an Italian born dog. Their bread and butter is pointing and retrieving. The coat is colored in white with orange or tan as well as a dark brownish black color. They stand from 22-28 inches at the shoulder and weigh from 62-82 lbs. Spinoni are friendly, loyal and willing to please. As an all around dog they are great with almost everyone you come in contact with. Training must be done early and with dominance as this dog may be stubborn. The Spinone Italiano is much more laid back than most pointers and retrievers. Being affectionate, loveable and loyal make this dog a great house dog. This can only be accomplished with exercise and something to keep this breed busy. Perspective owners must know that these dogs are born hunters and need to work even if it's just playing games such as fetch.
