Silky Terrier - Toy Group
Originating in Australia as a companion and hunter of rats and other vermin. The Silky Terrier is known for it's silky graceful coat. It can be colored in blue and tan which is the standard. The Silky Terrier is a small breed standing 9-10 inches and weighing from 8-11 lbs. Perhaps it's genes are derived from the Yorkshire Terrier which it closely resembles. In general they are good with other dogs and strangers although at times they may be stubborn. This dog breed is full of energy and life. They are willing and ready to give excitement to your life with their great personalities. Being a terrier they are at times independent and mischievous. The Silky Terrier needs grooming every other day and exercise like most dogs for about an hour a day. For a small dog you would be owning a dog thay may think it is bigger. Due to it's tendency to bark. They may be a challenge to train but with patience should succeed.
