Polish Lowland Sheepdog - Herding Group

Originating in Poland, the Polish Lowland Sheepdog was bred for herding sheep. They are high spirited and fun loving. At times they may be uncomfortable around strangers. Their herding instinct gives them an independent personality to do what they want to do. Their coat is long and flowing. It can be found in any color. The Polish Lowland Sheepdog is a smaller breed standing from 19-20 inches at the shoulder and weighing 32-34 lbs. Exercise should be done for about an hour a day. Their long coat needs grooming about every other day. Their instinct to herd may find them herding people as this needs to be corrected with obedience. They have high energy levels and are all around affectionate, loveable, trustworthy and good with other pets. They are similar in appearance to the Old English Sheepdog and share the same working purposes. This dog breed is one of the most effective herders and is able to guard the flock as well as herd it. They are able to train easily.
