Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever - Sporting Group
Originating in Nova Scotia, this retriever loves to work in the water retrieving ducks. Their coat is of medium length and is colored in shades of red with white. They stand 17-21 inches at the shoulder and weigh from 35-52 lbs. Another astonishing ability of this breed is to toll which attracts ducks. Tolling includes chasing sticks and hiding for moments around lakes or ponds. This all makes ducks curious and in turn helps hunters find ducks. The Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever has a very playful and friendly personality. They are friendly towards stangers, show great affection, loyalty and are obedient. This dog breed has a high exercise requirement and like the Labrador Retriever it has webbed feet. Webbed feet are a quality shared by dogs who work in the water. This dog breed loves to play fetch, flyball as well as perform in obedience trials. Owning one of these dogs is a great choice for beginners and active lifestyles.
