Manchester Terrier - Toy / Terrier Group

With both Standard and Toy types, this breed can be found in small and smaller. Though it's size is not as intimidating as it's temperament. Each Terrier including the Manchester Terrier should be taken seriously. Like any Terrier it likes to work at ratting or rabbiting. Guarding is another trait that this dog breed carries. This dog descended from the old black and tan terriers that go back to the Middle Ages. Grooming is easy and should be done weekly. The color of black and tan is the signature trait that the dog carries. Standing from 15-16 inches at the shoulder and weighing from 12-22 lbs. The Toy version shares the same traits however is smaller, weighing 12lbs and less. Loyalty and companionship should be expected with emphasis on a strong family bond. The Manchester Terrier is on occasion shy of strangers and independent. This breed also has a sense of adventure but at the same time the Manchester Terrier is calm at home.
