Japanese Chin - Toy Group

As the name implies the Japanese Chin originated in Japan. Their working abilities are limited as they are mainly just a companion or lap dog. They were given as gifts to outsiders from Chinese royalty. Their coat is long and flowing and is colored in black and white, red and white, white as well as black and tan. The Japanese Chin is going to be your right hand man as it loves to be with it's owner and family. They are also likely to befriend just about anyone in your life. Like all toy breeds they are small, standing 9-12 inches and weighing from 5-8 lbs. Exercise should be done in moderate amounts as well as games and obedience depending on your dogs energy level. The Japanese Chin is soft hearted, willing to play and impress as well as affectionate. Combing should be done bi-weekly.
