Italian Greyhound - Toy

In the Toy Group this lightning bolt is not only the fastest but one of the tallest. They are a great companion dog and relatively easy to maintain. Their short coat requires minimal grooming. While for their size, they are easy to have as an apartment dog. Adequate exercise is still needed for a dog that is built for speed like the Italian Greyhound is. They were revered by the upper class of Italy during the Renaissance. In working they are a sighthound for hunting smaller animals although they are mostly considered a lap dog. Children and strangers can adjust well to the Italian Greyhound do to it's size and friendly apperance. They stand 12 -15 inches at the withers and weigh from 12 - 18lbs. He is found in just about every color including the magnificent blue. The Italian Greyhound is at best while running. They are a loveable breed that may be shy around strangers but ever accepting of their family.
