Greyhound - Hound Group

greyhound

The Greyhound is a known racing dog. These dogs need adequate exercise in order to remain productive. This dog breed is a sighthound. It can be used to track down game but mainly today it is known for racing. The Greyhound can reach speeds in excess of 40 MPH. This dog stands 28-30 inches tall at withers and weighs up to 65 lbs. Greyhounds are slender and built for speed with a large chest and a slender body which provides their speed. They have a short coat that needs minimal grooming and come in virtually every color including red, brindle and gray. This is a great dog to rescue due to low aggression towards other animals and children. If your looking for a jogging or running partner you have found a match in the Greyhound.
