Glen of Imaal Terrier - Terrier Group

Originating in Ireland, the Glen of Imaal Terrier is a dog that is a versatile farm dog as well as a vermin hunter (particularly badger). It was designed to be tenacious enough to take on vermin as well as strong enough to run for great distances. Standing 12-14 inches and weighing about 32 lbs. The Glen of Imaal Terrier is a small dog that likes to keep active with games. However, they are always in hunt mode and for this reason need strict guidance. Even though they are small which means very little when profiling a dog. This dog breed can still be dog aggressive. Their medium length rugged coat can be colored in light brown, blue or brindle. It needs grooming weekly and shaping three times a year. They are not as energtic as most dogs however they do like to play. One must expect this dog to use it's nose and instinct to chase or hunt small animals. Their is no doubt and the Glen of Imaal Terrier is a great example of a small dog with ample amounts of toughness. It's history includes being used to turn a rotisserie for cooking.
