English Toy Spaniel - Toy Group
Originating in England the English Toy Spaniel is a working toy breed that is able to flush small birds out of their habitat. They are also lap dogs and companions. Like many toy breeds they are expected to be small and nice. However this breed at times may not accept strangers into it's territory. The English Toy Spaniel has a long coat that is red, black and tan or both with white. Their personality traits include being calm, quiet, willing to play and being ever aware. At times they may be independent and not listen. The owner must be able to control these feelings with dominance. The English Toy Spaniel stands 9-12 inches and weighs 9-15 lbs. Toy dogs need to be taken seriously and trained well. As with all dogs without direction, they may destroy your house, yard or life if they are not trained. Exercise should be done consistently daily. Combing should be done bi-weekly. They usually accepy other pets.
