Bull Terrier - Terrier Group

The Bull Terrier is a clownish looking dog known for its convex Roman nose and eyes. Though they are known to be fun-loving and active. They were originally bred for bull baiting, or fighting a bull when necessary as well as dog fighting. Something that this dog may still be used for. This dog breed is rather famous. Target and Bud Light with the dog Spuds MacKenzie both have represented the Bull Terrier in commercials. Standing about 21-22 inches at the withers and weighing about 52-62 lbs this is a muscular and medium to large sized dog. The Miniature Bull Terrier is a smaller version of the Bull Terrier. The Bull Terriers coat is white and any color except blue or liver. It is characterized as a gladiator dog and well known for its tenacity, loyalty and strong bond with its owner and family. If you like a happy go lucky yet determined dog you have found a match in the Bull Terrier. The Bull Terrier is stubborn when it comes to training and may not get along with other dogs. The main part of their personality is independence, mischief and playfulness.It is usually a trustworthy and stable breed however no powerful dog is ideal for a beginner.
