At times this dog breed may be aggressive towards other dogs and suspicious of strangers. Standing from 23-26 inches at the shoulder and weighing 60-95 lbs. The Briard is able to carry it's weight to protect the flock. Their coat is long and slightly rugged and is colored in all colors except for white. It needs grooming every day in order to keep it soft and flowing. The Briard may be difficult to train due to it's independent tendencies. However, with the right owner this breed can excel. They love to work and love to please their family. Like many dogs, the Briard is in need of an environment where it can be itself but at the same time needs obedience.
