Originating in the United States specifically South Carolina. The Boykin Spaniel is a companion as well as a hunter. Hunting and retrieving is the extent to it's working ability. They are obedient and willing to respond to training. The coat is of medium length and is found in a black/brown hue. Standing 14-18 inches at the shoulder and weighing 25-35 lbs. It is a dog that is a perfect size for mobility in the field and water. The Boykin Spaniel is fun loving, eager to please and should be calm around other dogs and children. Though training is needed to ensure they remain obedient and loving. Since they love to hunt they may be instinctually focused on birds and other animals. However, the Boykin Spaniel is also great as a companion dog if it is exercised and played with. They are always smiling and their graceful coat shows their beauty.
