Borzoi - Hound Group
The Borzoi is a sighthound from Russia that likes to keep active and is a great sprinter. Due to their speed, you may need to keep a close eye on these dogs when they are off the leash. This dog breed descended from sighthounds in Russia that were used to hunt wolves. During the 19th century they were considered a status symbol and became bred for companionship. Their is no mistaking that these dogs are hunters and have the urge to hunt. For this reason households that have animals besides dog's may not comply with this breed's instinct. Weighing 75-105 lbs and standing 27-31 inches at the shoulder. The Borzoi has a curly coat that is colored in cream, gold, gold/white, black/white and tan/white.
Hunting wolves is the main bread and butter of this dog's working ability.
