Thought to originate from the Mediterranean. The Bichon Frise was used in the streets of European countries to perform tricks for a stipend. They are white with hints of cream. The ultimate companion and friend. The Bichon Frise is a high energy dog that enjoys ample exercise though even small amounts of exercise are sufficient. Being playful, affectionate, obedient and friendly towards other animals and strangers is it's signature. They stand 10-12 inches at the shoulder and weigh from 10-16 lbs. At times they may be aloof or alert and bark excessively. Another dog that may share the genetics of the Bichon is the Havanese. Bearded and beautiful, the Bichon Frise needs to be groomed at least every other day as well as clipped about every two months. Small and exciting, this is a dog that could be ideal for any living situation.
