Bedlington Terrier - Terrier Group
Originating in England, the Bedlington Terrier is a dog that was bred to hunt vermin such as fox and rats. They have a short, soft, somewhat curly coat that is colored in blue, light brown or liver sometimes with tan. This breed stands from 15-16 inches and weighs 18-22 lbs. The Bedlington Terrier is a dog that is a great companion, as well as loyal and outgoing. They like most terriers are apt to fight other dogs that may challenge them. Exercise should be done for about one hour a day. Their temperament may be stubborn as at times they may be difficult to train. It's coat needs clipping once a month and grooming weekly. Unlike many terriers they are not loud and rarely bark. Their coat looks like it is made for show however the specific shaping it needs may make this breed a less desirable choice. Their history includes being a favorite among the upper class.
