Though some may be wary of strangers. This breed is in need of a companion, they are people dogs. Grooming is needed about once every one to two weeks. They stand from 23-25 inches at the shoulder and weigh from 45-60 lbs. The American Foxhound is a definite scenthound that loves to hunt, they bay instead of bark. A trait that the Beagle also possesses.
