American Eskimo Dog - Non-Sporting Group

The American Eskimo Dog is a Nordic type dog known for its beautiful white coat. It is a small to medium sized dog that is from the Spitz working group. This dog breed is recognized in two sizes. Miniature from 13-20 pounds and standard from 20-38 lbs. The American Eskimo Dog is a well known trick dog. In the early 1900s it was used in the circus. Along with its clown like behavior comes a serious side. As with most dogs it was bred to guard and thus may be territorial.
