Alaskan Malamute - Working Group
Originating in Alaska, the Alaskan Malamute is a lively dog. These dogs need a lot of exercise and by gene they like to work. The dog breed of the Alaskan Malamute may be the closest to resemble the wolf. They howl instead of bark and share many of the same physical characteristics of a wolf. This dog weighs from 70-90 lbs and stands 23-26 inches at the shoulder. It is a dog that can pull a sled and is happy to do so. The Alaskan Malamute resembles the Siberian Husky however a Siberian Husky has eyes that are more pronounced and more colorful. Another difference is the Alaskan Malamute is usually larger than a Siberian Husky. This type of dog is more primitive than most dogs and as a result is harder to train. However, with patience you can become the alpha dog. Its coat is red, white, black and grey in many different combinations. A guardian and a joy to play and laugh at. The Alaskan Malamute will keep you entertained and loved for a long time.
