Affenpinscher - Toy Group
Originating in Germany as a vermin hunter and companion. The Affenpinscher has a rugged look to it. They are a small dog weighing 8-10 lbs and standing 10-12 inches at the shoulder. Their coat is colored in black, gray, silver, red, black and tan, or beige sometimes with a black face. The Affenpinscher is energetic, curious, eager to explore and at times independent. They are occasionally frequent barkers and even climbers. Another trait they have is that they are more likely to be behaved around other dogs and pets. Their coat is rugged and of medium length and requires combing about twice weekly and clipping after a few months. The Affenpinscher is the oldest toy breed that their is. They are a ratter and a lap dog all in one. One may say that if you need them to work then they will still be your best friend. Exercise should be done frequently as well as games and obedience.
